About Us

The School was born from requests from the Pot Kiln customers, who consistently asked Mike to show them how he made the dishes on the menu. It started life in a pre-fab production kitchen up at Vicars Game, then in October 2007 it moved down to the present site, a converted dairy farm, just half a mile from the pub.

The kitchen has been designed with state of the art equipment from De Dietrich and Silestone microban worktops. These include pioneering continuum induction hobs and self-cleaning multifunction ovens. We can comfortably take twelve students for hands-on cooking and up to sixteen for demonstrations.

The cookery school has also become a popular destination for team-building days out, private dinners and parties, corporate meetings and stag and hen parties. The dining room can seat up to 24, with the optimum number being sixteen. We can also arrange weekend packages with the Royal Berkshire Shooting School.
